Frontend-Strong Fullstack Developer (Remote)

Waystone Software is building the future of marketing and practice management automation for financial advisors.
Our products, Altitude and Pathfinder, are designed to make complex marketing, client management, and business processes simple, powerful, and automated.

We’re looking for a Frontend-Strong Fullstack Developer to join our team and help us bring beautiful, high-quality user experiences to life.

You’ll be working with:

  • Frontend UIs generated via V0.dev
  • A backend built with Node.js, Prisma, and PostgreSQL
  • React, Next.js, TailwindCSS (or similar styling frameworks)

This is a full-time contracted remote role with long term potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take rough frontend outputs generated from V0.dev and transform them into polished, production-ready React/Next.js features.
  • Wire frontend pages and components to backend APIs, ensuring seamless data flows and interactivity.
  • Build/Modify frontend components (forms, dashboards, workflows) based on v0 outputs and business requirements.
  • Connect and manage state between frontend and backend using tools like Prisma, API routes, and context/state management libraries if needed.
  • Write clean, modular, reusable code following modern React and Next.js best practices.
  • Debug and resolve frontend and backend issues that arise during feature development.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to understand requirements and define what "done" means for a feature.
  • Work closely with backend engineers to align data models, API contracts, and integration points.
  • Participate in pull request reviews, testing, and documentation of the features you build.
  • Help maintain a clean, responsive, and accessible UI.

About You:

  • 4+ years of experience with React and Next.js (or similar frameworks).
  • Strong frontend skills — you know how to implement clean layouts, responsive designs, and user-friendly interactions.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • English proficiency. B2 (Upper-Intermediate) MINIMUM. You must be able to communicate, we are a small team and speaking the same language is important.
  • Solid experience integrating frontends with backend APIs (REST, GraphQL, or RPC).
  • Experience working with Node.js backends, particularly creating or connecting to API routes, and basic familiarity with Prisma ORM and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Good eye for basic UI/UX quality — margins, spacing, responsiveness, clean form behaviors (even if you’re not a formal designer).
  • Comfortable working independently: managing your tasks, setting priorities, and communicating proactively.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, Agile, or startup environment is a plus.
  • Bonus skills (not required):
  • Familiarity with TailwindCSS or CSS utility libraries.
  • Experience working with low-code or AI-generated UIs (like V0.dev).
  • Understanding of accessibility best practices (ARIA, keyboard navigation).
  • Experience writing unit or integration tests (Jest, React Testing Library).

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience building secure, scalable platforms.
  • Experience with distributed systems or performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with basic frontend integration (Next.js, React) — although this is primarily a backend role.

Project and Compensation Details:

You’ll have real ownership: what you build will ship directly into production and impact users right away.

Move fast, build smart: no endless meetings or red tape.

Small, senior team: collaborate directly with the founders and technical architects.

Modern stack: Next.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL, AWS/GCP — no legacy code or slow tech debt.

Shape the future of how financial advisors manage and grow their businesses with technology.

The project has a budget of $2,500 total per month for full-time work, which equates to roughly 40 hours/week. We offer flexible working hours, requiring some overlap during US business hours to facilitate effective collaboration.
