Genzeon is seeking a senior-level Technical Lead to join their technical services team remotely. This role will be involved in managing multiple small projects primarily centered around scripting, automation, and testing. The candidate will work closely with customers to extract technical specifications and implement projects in Python, emphasizing robust unit testing and contract automation. As the Technical Lead, you will take charge of leading Python development efforts, focusing on root cause analysis, defect prevention, and conducting programming reviews to improve team quality. You will work extensively with scripting languages including Python, PowerShell, and SQL, wearing multiple hats that include business analysis, scripting/programming, test automation, and project management.

Your core responsibilities include extracting technical specifications directly from customers to ensure accurate requirement gathering, developing Python projects with at least 80% unit testing coverage, and setting up automated contract tests to facilitate regression testing. You will manage and coordinate multiple small-scale projects, overseeing testing and deployment activities and ensuring smooth delivery. This role requires strong leadership, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills to guide the team and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Importantly, the projects do not involve Kubernetes, Docker, or microservices architectures, allowing you to focus on scripting and automation within existing infrastructures. We expect active contribution to best practices and continuous quality improvement, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.

We are looking for a senior Python developer with proven leadership capabilities, including mentoring team members, conducting code reviews, and driving defect prevention. The ideal candidate must be very comfortable writing production-quality Python code and have in-depth knowledge of Python libraries used for automation and scripting. Extensive experience with APIs, including using them to implement custom functionality, is essential.

In addition, you should have strong experience with unit testing principles and frameworks, striving for high code coverage (around 80%) to ensure robust and maintainable code. Familiarity with contract testing and automation for regression is also critical, demonstrating your ability to raise quality standards and reduce defects.

Beyond technical skills, you must be capable of gathering and translating customer requirements into technical specifications, thereby acting as a bridge between business needs and technical delivery. Project management experience is highly desirable, enabling you to juggle multiple small projects, prioritize tasks, coordinate testing teams, and manage deployment schedules effectively.

Soft skills such as problem-solving, communication, and willingness to collaborate on team-building and continuous improvement initiatives are crucial. We are looking for a professional eager to engage in ongoing training and commit to growing with the team long-term.
