Role and responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product teams and software engineers across security, machine learning, digital risk protection, and cyber threat intelligence to develop the next generation of solutions for the ZeroFox platform
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of our microservices architecture and stack; leverage this knowledge to improve system stability, performance, scalability, and security
  • Own and maintain multiple components of our DevOps infrastructure, including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, and container orchestration platforms, with a focus on embedding security controls and checks
  • Begin to take on a leadership role within projects, guiding best practices around deployment automation, infrastructure as code, and secure configuration management
  • Research, evaluate, and implement new tooling or capabilities to ensure our systems meet or exceed production security requirements (e.g., scanning, patching, vulnerability management)
  • Coordinate with security stakeholders to review engineering milestones and third-party systems for compliance with security standards

Required qualifications and skills

  • Motivated, communicative, teamwork-oriented professionals comfortable working in agile environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, OR equivalent education or experience
  • DevOps experience, typically obtained in 3+ years
  • Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, automation, and CI/CD practices
  • Familiarity with cloud services like AWS for building and scaling web architecture, including basic security considerations and standards
  • Experience working with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Nomad, or Kubernetes
  • Ability to write and maintain infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform or AWS CloudFormation), integrating security into IaC workflows
  • Good communication, collaboration, and presentation skills in English
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment

Desirable skills

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Go, or a similar language
  • Experience troubleshooting networking issues in a cloud environment, including basic network security principles
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
  • Solid knowledge of infrastructure best practices, security considerations, and automation tools
  • Understanding of or exposure to security scanning tools (e.g., SAST, DAST, or container image scanners)
