Job Details:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Business Analyst to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of data systems such as Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS/LIS), Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), etc., and Artificial Intelligence projects. As part of our Software Data Engineering and Business Intelligence team, you will collaborate with software developers to build systems tailored to the needs of scientists, professionals, and engineers involved in R&D, Manufacturing, and other workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather business requirements from scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in collecting and documenting requirements, including user stories, functional specifications, and scope documents.
  • Lead collaborative design sessions and facilitate discussions to translate business needs into detailed system designs.
  • Evaluate current business processes, anticipate requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and assist with the adoption of advanced software solutions.
  • Work effectively with teams at all organizational levels to drive decision-making and present clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Create comprehensive business requirement documents and convert them into precise functional specifications.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide ongoing assistance to ensure solutions meet stakeholder needs.
  • Develop visualized workflows to effectively communicate and clarify requirements.
  • Collect and author software requirements and test specifications in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Prepare thorough system and user documentation to support training and adoption.
  • Maintain continuous involvement in software projects from initiation through deployment and adoption.
  • Possess experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or similar platforms, particularly those supporting lab-to-production workflows.
  • Utilize JIRA to track and prioritize tasks and deliverables.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Business Analyst experience in the biotech industry.
  • 1+ years of experience working with scientific data systems such as Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), etc.
  • Excellent English communication skills around technical and non-technical topics.
  • Experience with Project Management/planning tools, such as JIRA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Life Science, Chemistry, or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Smartsheet.
  • Must maintain a high level of ownership and see assignments through to completion based on agreed-upon deadlines.
  • Must be highly organized, independently driven, results-oriented, and a quick learner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience working with dashboarding tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Spotfire.
  • Experience with validated, 21 CFR Part 11 compliant computer systems or a GxP environment.
  • Hands-on experience with database design and querying languages like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar.
  • Broad understanding of, and experience with, various hardware and software systems, including their installation, maintenance, and lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with ISO:9001 compliance in a production environment.
