Senior Data Engineer in OpenLoop

Our OpenLoop Peru team is seeking a Senior Data Engineer that will lead quality designs, implement smart data storage solutions, and ensure our data is accessible, reliable and usable for valuable analysis and decision making.

Note: This is a full time position with a hybrid schedule, working hours of 9:00am - 6:00pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays, employees are required in the office.

• Software Development and Architecture:
  • Write production-ready data pipelines, going towards self-documenting code that is aligned with the overall data architecture. Utilizes abstractions and code isolation effectively. Works in a specific stack. Implements detailed software design.
• Project Impact and Responsibility:
  • Participate in the design of data architecture in one project and deployment. Create and modify useful views to improve existing reports.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Utilize your knowledge to partner with Senior Engineers, Leaders and/or stakeholders communicating any decision making that may have security implications.
• Technical Leadership:
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior level Data Engineers, promoting best practices in cloud architecture and development.
• Continuous Improvement and Operations:
  • Proactively Identify and refactor data pipelines or projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field (desired).
• 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer
  • startup or healthcare background is a plus
• 3 years of experience with Typescript, Python or C#
• 3 years of experience with relational and non-relational databases
• 3 years of experience working with a Cloud provider (preferably AWS using services such as S3, Lambdas, Step)
• Functions experience: SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Redis, etc).
• 3 years of experience working with version control systems such as Github.
• Strong knowledge of SQL queries.
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
• Experience with a CDK is a plus.
• Successful candidates will have proven career experience with being an agile team player, self-driven, autonomous, and solution focused.
• This role will consistently work with our OpenLoop teams in the United States. Candidates must be able to speak, understand, read and write English at an advanced level. We do require resumes to be submitted in English. Our interview process will include a conversation in English to verify level of fluency and understanding.
