Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Architect and build robust infrastructure and API services for our expanding network of partners.
Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and collaboration.
Work closely with stakeholders to streamline complex processes for brokers, enhancing our platform's usability.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from ideation to production deployment.
Identify technical challenges and propose innovative solutions to improve our services.

Who We're Looking For

We’re looking for visionary Senior Backend and Full-Stack Software Engineers who are eager to create transformative solutions that shape the future of insurtech. The ideal candidates will bring the following skills and experience:

Backend Development: Proven expertise in designing and developing scalable backend infrastructure that seamlessly integrates with multiple insurance carrier systems, while supporting our web portal and integration partners.
API Design & Development: Deep knowledge of RESTful principles, API design best practices, and hands-on experience building APIs with frameworks like Next.js and Nest.js.
Programming Proficiency: Strong experience with TypeScript and familiarity with modern development workflows.
Data Integration: Skilled in integrating and normalizing data from diverse carrier APIs to ensure consistency, accuracy, and interoperability across systems.
Error Handling & Logging: Ability to implement robust mechanisms for error tracking, debugging, and logging to ensure reliability and maintainability.
Collaboration: Effective communication and collaboration with product and engineering teams to define, refine, and deliver API requirements.
Performance Optimization: Experience monitoring API performance and applying updates or optimizations to improve efficiency and scalability.
Continuous Learning: A passion for staying at the forefront of emerging technologies and trends in API and backend development.

Preferred Skills

While not required, the following skills would be a plus:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
5+ years experience with building industry-critical software systems
Senior level experience with backend languages and frameworks
Proficient with PostgreSQL (or similar RDBMS) and NoSQL databases
Familiarity with testing methodologies, including black-box, white-box, and exploratory testing
Familiarity with writing unit tests in Typescript
Experience with Google Cloud products such as Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage
Proficient with Git
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
