Senior DevOps Engineer in Coalesce

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a key part of our engineering team, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure for both internal projects and client engagements. You'll work closely with engineers, product teams, and leadership to ensure our platforms are secure, resilient, and efficient. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver reliable and performant applications while supporting development teams with the tools they need to work effectively.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, your role will focus on building and maintaining AWS environments using Terraform, Kubernetes (K8s), AWS, and Jenkins. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to back-end development if you have experience in PHP or Java.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor: Ensure stability, reliability, and security across all Coalesce internal and client environments.
• Mitigate: Address high load times, downtime, hardware failures, intrusions, and vulnerabilities to maintain system performance.
• Prevent: Develop processes and best practices to improve infrastructure durability, security, and efficiency across projects.
• Optimize: Identify and implement improvements to development team workflows, infrastructure performance, and deployment pipelines.
• Communicate: Educate and collaborate with internal teams and clients on best practices for cloud infrastructure, automation, and security.
• Manage: When applicable, oversee and mentor developers, engineers, and architects on infrastructure best practices.
• Respond: Be available (within reason) to address critical issues related to system reliability, performance, and security.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in DevOps and cloud infrastructure management, particularly within AWS environments. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, solutions-oriented, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure Engineering
• Strong expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, etc.)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes (K8s) and Helm for managing Kubernetes applications
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools
• Strong experience with Linux systems administration and networking
• Knowledge of security best practices, monitoring, and system reliability engineering (SRE)

• Experience with PHP or Java, with the ability to contribute to back-end development when needed
• Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
• Experience with serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Fargate, etc.)
• Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet)
• Prior experience leading DevOps initiatives or mentoring junior engineers
