OpenLoop is looking for a Data Engineer to join our team in Lima, Peru. This role will be a member of the Data Team, collaborating closely with the Solutions Engineer Manager.

About the Role

The mission of this role is to help our operations team with efficiency and productivity by using critical data. The Data Engineer will extract data from different sources and turn it into information that will guide strategic business decisions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct full analysis of our data across the organization.
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement dashboards and databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Acquire data from primary and secondary data sources building data pipelines.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Filter and clean data by building scripts.
  • Monitor performance and scalability of data engineering components.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field (desired).
  • 3+ years of experience in a programming language such as Typescript (preferably), Python or C#.
  • 2+ years of experience with relational and non-relational databases.
  • 2+ years of experience working with a Cloud provider (preferably AWS using services such as CDK, S3, Lambdas, Step Functions, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Redis, etc).
  • 2+ years of experience working with version control systems such as git. Ability to use Github Actions.
  • 2+ years of working experience as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer (startup or healthcare background desired).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL queries.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Zoho Analytics preferred), and tools such as Excel and Google Sheets (advance level required).
  • Self-driven, autonomy, teamwork and strategic mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Fluency in English (C1) and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Available to work in a hybrid work model.
