Job Description

The ideal candidate for this position is a self-learner who is energetic, collaborative, has strong communication skills, and is proactive. You must have experience working or owning startups that went MVP or further while being comfortable working on complex and diversified requests that are critical to the long-term success of Kiwibot. The role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a rapidly changing environment, with a clear mission to build a robotic last-mile delivery network powered by clean and effective technological solutions.

The Backend Developer role at Kiwibot involves building and maintaining web applications, updating SDKs, assessing the efficiency and speed of current applications, writing high-quality code, managing hosting environments, QA testing, troubleshooting, and debugging, keeping on top of new technologies, and writing documentation.

As a Backend Developera typical day might include the following:

  • Building and maintaining web applications.
  • Updating SDKs to ensure they are current and meet the needs of the company.
  • Assessing the efficiency and speed of existing applications and finding ways to improve them.
  • Writing high-quality code that is well-documented and easy to maintain.
  • Managing hosting environments to ensure they are secure and reliable.
  • Conducting QA testing to identify and fix any bugs or issues with the application.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging code to identify and fix any issues.
  • Keeping on top of new technologies and integrating them into the company's software development processes.
  • Writing documentation to help other team members understand how the code works.
  • Deploying product updates to ensure that the company's software is up-to-date and meets customer needs.

Qualifications and requirements

This job might be the right one for you if:

  • 1+ years of proven experience working as a Software Developer in tasks that involve Backend and/or Logic.
  • Advanced English speaking & writing skills.
  • Self-learner.
  • In-depth understanding of the entire web development process: design, development, and deployment.
  • Technical proficiency in Redis, SocketIO, TypeScript, NodeJS, JavaScript, and GO.
  • Ability to analyze and balance the advantages of the different Redis data structures.
  • Understanding of the basics of web sockets and SocketIO, and how they work.
  • Familiarity with front-end languages (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, and CSS).
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills.
  • Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude.

Desirable skills

  • You might have also had:
    • Spanish language skills (we are a Latin American start-up!).
    • Startup Experience, PMF Product experience, Develop projects from scratch
