A Network Expense Management professional is responsible for managing and optimizing our organization's network and telecommunications expenses. Their primary role is to oversee the procurement, utilization, and cost-effectiveness of various network and telecommunications services, such as Wide Area Network (Dedicated Internet Access) connectivity. They work to control costs, ensure service efficiency, and maintain compliance with telecommunications contracts and regulations.

The primary goal of Expense Management is to ensure cost-effective usage of network and telecommunications services while maintaining service quality and compliance with contractual obligations. Expense Management encompasses activities such as invoice auditing, contract negotiation, usage analysis, cost optimization, inventory management, and vendor management.

• Telecom Expense Analysis:
  • Partner with internal Honeywell Finance team and SAKON (Expense Management partner) on analyzing telecom invoices and usage/traffic to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure accuracy in billing.
• AI/Automation is a key aspect of TEM analysis.
• Contract Management:
  • ​Partner with internal Honeywell Procurement team, managing Honeywell's telecom contracts, ensuring compliance with terms, conditions, and service level agreements.
  • Negotiate new contracts or contract renewals with service providers and service integrators (Lightyear), to secure favorable terms and pricing.
• Cost Optimization:
  • ​Optimize telecom expenses by identifying opportunities to reduce costs without compromising service quality.
    Analyze usage patterns, negotiate better rates, and recommend changes to service plans.
  • Partner with Honeywell Network Architecture on identifying new technologies to achieve cost savings.
  • Implement policies and guidelines to control telecom expenses and educate Honeywell employees on Wide Area Network/Internet cost-effective usage practices.
• Reporting and Analytics:
  • ​Partner with Honeywell Infrastructure Strategy & Analytics (Splunk) team on generating visual reports and provide insights on telecom expenses, usage trends, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Use analytics tools and software to analyze telecom data and present actionable recommendations to management.
  • These reports help stakeholders and senior leadership make informed decisions, optimize telecom resources, and track the effectiveness of cost-saving measures.
• Technology Evaluation:
  • Partner with Honeywell Network Architecture on piloting emerging technologies and telecom trends.
  • Assess new telecom solutions, evaluate their potential benefits and costs, and make recommendations to management on adopting new technologies that can enhance service quality, efficiency, or cost-effectiveness.

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated success evaluating, developing, and implementing scalable network/telecom expense management solutions and processes.
• Strong Project Management exp with resource allocations, managing project /portfolio finances, tracking project metrics and reporting.

• Basic financial systems (Hyperion, Oracle, SAP, financial reporting tools) and reporting experience.
• Exceptional analytical skills (linking results to drivers).

• The ability to make consistent and timely decisions.
• The ability to quickly identify subtle patterns among issues.
