Role Expectations

• General understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure, the ability to debug and update Terraform modules, analytical abilities to remediate bugs and defects by reviewing logs and other observability tools, and strong communication skills to share findings and issues.

Technical Skills

• Strong Terraform competency– including the why/how of using infrastructure as code. They should be comfortable writing Terraform, using Terraform, shared modules, etc.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes including Kubectl and experience troubleshooting on this platform
• Harness or other pipelines technology/platform (such as git lab, github actions, jenkins, azure devops)
• General knowledge of devops principles and best practices
• Significant AWS experience, in particular coupled with terraform (as opposed to using the console/GUI)
• Fluency in using Splunk/dynatrace/other observability tools
• Strong familiarity with basic networking (for example, CNAME DNS records) and applying these network concepts in an AWS context
• Familiarity with basics of disaster recovery (this is a good one, because a sceening question on DR could easily sprawl to gauge knowledge of foundational networking concepts, AWS multiregion complexity, Kubernetes, observability.
